Jefferson County is hosting their first annual Shop with a Cop!

What is Shop with a Cop?

Shop With a Cop is a nationally known program throughout the United States. It provides an opportunity for police officers to engage young people in a positive environment and helps build relations with community members that are unable to afford necessary kid's school clothing and holiday gifts due to financial restraints. Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will partner with Family Access Network (FAN) to provide a few, local, less fortunate kids with a shopping trip for Christmas. FAN selects the students that qualify for the program and the Law Enforcement personnel of Jefferson County will provide those students with a one-on-one experience. We would like to be able to provide the students with necessary clothing items, gifts, and food for their holiday meal.

With the help of Madras Police, Oregon State Police, Parole and Probation, Warm Springs Police, the City of Madras, the Jefferson County Sheriff Office, Deer Ridge Correctional Institute, and members of the community, we hope to make this event the first of many more to come.

How can you help?

We are currently seeking monetary donations to fund the Shop with a Cop program. Wrapping supplies donations will also be needed. If wanting a more direct role in this amazing program, we will be seeking volunteers to help wrap gifts the day of the event.
