Fire and EMS Consolidation

Fire-EMS

For the last couple of years, community leaders and interested citizens have been meeting to discuss the potential benefits of consolidating the services of Jefferson County Fire District 1 and Jefferson County EMS. A committee has been established that is evaluating budgets, staffing patterns, call volume and feasibility of a phased consolidation of the two entities. The committee is working with consultants from Special Districts Association of Oregon who have years of experience working with Fire and EMS agencies on a variety of complex projects, including various types of consolidations. Leaders and board members from both agencies are involved in the process. The committee meets monthly and the public is welcome. Meetings are available via Zoom. You can sign up to receive meeting alerts here.

Committee members have a wide-range of experience and backgrounds in fire, medical, business, finance, mergers, and more. They are valued members of the community who have an interest in ensuring citizens receive quality care by professionals who are valued for their service.
