2023 Jefferson County Fair & Rodeo Queen Emma Brandau

Queen Emma Brandau

On October 8, 2022, Jefferson County Fair and Rodeo held tryouts for their 2023 Fair and Rodeo Court and at the end of the day, Emma Brandau was crowned as our Queen. Emma is the 16-year old daughter of Daniel and Natalie Brandau of Powell Butte, Oregon, and attends Crook County High School.   Over the years, she has had the privilege of representing and participating in numerous programs. In 2015 to 2017, Emma was able to represent the Kitsap Saddle Club in Port Orchard, Washington as their Junior Princess both years. In 2021, she tried out for the Central Oregon Peewee Rodeo Queen, and even though she was not selected, she learned a lot through the process. That same year, Emma joined the Crook County OHSET team as their groom, and participated in Horse and Swine 4-H. This past year through OHSET, she received her first High School Athletic Letter, and made it to regionals in Moses Lake, Washington with her team in the Canadian Flags Relay, and is really looking forward to this upcoming season. Emma is also involved in NJROTC, Madras Saddle and Gaming Club, Central Oregon Barrel Racing Association, and Central Oregon Peewee Rodeo Association, along with various volunteer/community service opportunities.  She enjoys the opportunity to continue to grow as a rider, student, leader, and athlete through all her activities and programs while working hard to maintain a 3.5 or higher GPA.   Emma and her rodeo partner will be traveling throughout the state of Oregon representing all of Jefferson County and its Fair and Rodeo in 2023.

Also, Emma was chosen by the Miss Rodeo Oregon Clinic Committee as the recipient of the Miss Rodeo Oregon Spirit Award, and will be awarded a full scholarship to attend the 2023 MRO clinic held here in Madras on April 7-9 where 2023 Miss Rodeo America, Kennadee Riggs will be the head clinician.
