Terms: Jefferson County grants the user a non-exclusive, non sub-licensable, license to use Jefferson County digital data. This license agreement applies to all digital data acquired from Jefferson County staff, Web sites, FTP sites, or other internet-based delivery systems. In the event that another license agreement issued by Jefferson County is explicitly associated with a particular data set, the terms of the other license agreement prevail, and the terms expressed in this more general license agreement are nullified.
Usage: When Jefferson County GIS data is used in the development of digital or printed material, the Jefferson County GIS Department must be acknowledged in the relevant metadata, printed and published material. Jefferson County does not guarantee the accuracy of the data provided. Jefferson County is not obligated to provide updates to data in the event that newer versions become available and shall only supply such data upon request after such data becomes available. It is the user’s responsibility to verify any information derived from the GIS data before making any decisions or taking any actions based on the information provided.
Liability: The user releases Jefferson County and its respective officers, agents and employees from any and all liabilities for any and all damages resulting from use or misuse of any data obtained including, but not limited to incidental, consequential, special or indirect damages of any sort, whether arising in tort, contract or otherwise, even if Jefferson County has been informed of the possibility of such damages, or for any claim by any other party. In states that do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, you may not use Jefferson County GIS data.
