Special Transportation Fund

The Special Transportation Fund ("STF") was created in 1985 by the Oregon Legislature with funding from a 2 cent tax on cigarettes and other state sources. In 1986, state funds for special transportation services became available to transit districts and counties in Oregon. The program was created to provide transportation services for seniors and people with disabilities and the STF Advisory Committee oversees the use of state funds intended to improve public transit in rural areas.
