After you've applied online, please visit our office at least three days before your ceremony to complete the license process. 

You may obtain a license in any county in Oregon, and it can be used in any county in the State of Oregon. Licenses purchased in Jefferson County must be returned to the Jefferson County Clerk's Office within 5 days after the ceremony

Both applicants must be present to complete the application process AND both parties must provide identification issued by a state or federal agency, showing both photo and date of birth.

Marriage license fee:  $60.00 (payable by cash, check/money order, or debit/credit card - 2.5% fee accessed on card).  Additional $7.75 to pre-order certified copy.

The license can only be used in the State of Oregon and is only valid for 60 days from the effective date.  There is a 3-day waiting period from the day the license is issued until it can be used.  There are no exceptions or waivers to the license fee.  No extensions or refunds are made once the license is issued.

Legal age for marriage in the State of Oregon is 18 years of age.  Anyone not yet 17 years of age cannot be legally married.  A 17 year-old can be married if they have the parent's or guardian's consent. Consent forms are available from this office.

A license can be issued one day after the final date of a divorce.

Marriage License Record Copy Request

A certified copy of your marriage license will be required to show your legal name and relationship status after marriage.  You will receive a memento certificate; however, this is not a legal document.  To request a certified copy of your marriage license records, visit our office or submit a Marriage License Copy Request form along with payment.
